Dear Centrecorp Foundation Team,
On behalf of Yirara College, our students, staff and families, I would like to express our sincere and heartfelt thanks for your generous support of our recent athletics trip to Darwin.
The trip was an incredible success and a very special experience for our students. We are extremely proud to say that every one of our athletes came home with a medal. This was a wonderful achievement and a reflection of the hard work, courage and determination they showed throughout the competition.
However, what made us even prouder was the way our students represented Yirara College, their families and their communities. Their behaviour throughout the trip was beautiful. They were respectful, polite, supportive of one another and grateful for the opportunity they had been given. Staff received many positive comments about the way our young people carried themselves both at the athletics competition and while out in the Darwin community.
For many of our students, opportunities such as this are about so much more than winning medals. They are about building confidence, experiencing new places, developing independence, learning to work as a team and realising what they can achieve when people believe in them.
Your support helped make this opportunity possible.
The medals will be treasured, but the memories, friendships, confidence and sense of achievement our students brought home with them will last much longer.
